Voodoo (New Orleans) is an amalgamation of traditional religions from West Africa, the Roman Catholic form of Christianity, and Haitian Vodou. Voodoo deals with two elements. A hex, or spell, and a charm, a hexed object. The word Valentine derives from the Latin word, valens, meaning strength.
